Yoga has been apart of my life for 25 years, and my practice has helped me grow stronger, more flexible, and fearless both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires me to live each moment more mindfully.
I have been a yoga practitioner since the start of the new millennium. I opened my first Yoga studio in 2008 during the mist of a recession after my first 500hr Power Yoga certification. We were the first black owned and operated Yoga studio in Baltimore City and our story was covered on Fox 45 in 2009! As times changed and life grew, so did I. In 2012, I became 200hr Hatha Yoga certified. Two years later, I gained an extra 100hr making me a 300hr Hatha Yoga Instructor based on my skills, dedication, discipline, and devotion! That year, I also acquired 200hr Casework In Theory and practice of Asana, Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy, and Basic Teaching.
However, it wasn’t until 2018 that I found Kemetic Yoga and got my 200hr Kemetic Yoga certification. Then in 2019, I went abroad to Negril, Jamaica to recertify in Kemetic Yoga under the Master Instruction of Yirser Ra Hotep of Kemetic Yogaskills: School of Kemetic Yoga. I will always be a student of the practice overall and I am deeply grateful for the loving wisdom that my teacher, Master Yirser Ra Hotep, has shared with me.
